Grid Connection Achieved at Kadina Solar Farm

Sydney – 24 March 2021 – MPower Group Limited (ASX: MPR)

MPower, Australia’s leading specialist renewable energy, battery storage and microgrid business, is pleased to announce it has successfully connected a 5MWac solar project at Kadina in South Australia to the national electricity grid. This marks the fifth 5MW solar project that MPower has connected to the grid.

Chief Executive Officer Nathan Wise commented: “The successful first connection and energisation of this 5MW solar project is a great milestone and marks the fifth project of this size that MPower has achieved grid connection. It closely follows the connection of the South Hummocks solar project last week and is further testament to MPower’s expertise in delivering multiple projects in parallel.”

Grid connection, including first energisation of the solar farm, follows the commissioning phase that began last month. The project is expected to reach commercial operations in the coming weeks, highlighting the start of when the project is capable of exporting power at full capacity to the grid.

“MPower is actively building a pipeline of 5MW solar project sites and currently has exclusivity over six sites. We are looking to create an initial portfolio of up to 20 renewable energy assets with an aggregate capacity of 100MWac and an estimated value of more than $150 million once fully constructed” Nathan Wise added.
